The Best of Everything)

(Continued from Page 60)
"In fact the entire buf-
fet, from chicken soup to
lox to beet-borscht salad
to sweets and an Israeli
fruit table, was presented
with flair. and good
humor. - Good humor?
Well, I did have to smile a
bit at the chopped liver
replica of Mt. Sinai. Re-
member the movie
'Goodbye Columbus'?
"Chef Berdy didn't stop
with Jewish foods. Other
yards-long tables were
laden with American-style
brunch offerings. Even here
a couple of Jewish yummies
nestled: latkes and
blueberry-covered cheese
blintzes.
As more and more people
arrived, Michigan Inn Di-
rector of Community , Rela-
tions Burt Markbwitz
played the role of genial
host, guiding groups of
people to their tables, mak-
ing sure everyone had all he
or she wanted, describing
the preparation of the
Jewish dishes to guests not
faniiliar with these foods.
"Seated and sated in the
bright yellow, greenery-
filled Coffee Gardens, we
thanked our pleasant wait-
ress, Joeann Johnson, and
said 'Shalom' to Burt Mar-
kowitZ, Chef Berdy and
their efficient staffs.
"Next sumn;ier, Sunday
Ethnic Buffets will be my
weekly habit. But mean-
while, Burt told me -to be
prepared for an Oktoberfest
Buffet. That's German,
folks, for potato pancakes
and weinerschnitzel and oh
-
my!"
LET'S STOP all the talk
going around . Carl
Steger is remaining at
Jakks on Greenfield and 10
Mile Rd. ... Wednesdays
through Saturdays.
Carl is Considered one of
the premier raconteur-
songster-pianists in the
metro Detroit area ... and
his many followers will be
glad to know that the
mind-boggling gibber-
gabber topic is definitely
settled one way or another.
SAY GALS, don't throw
away your husband's (or boy
friend's) old socks ... use
them for cleaning mitts ...
They fit right over your
hand ... great for getting
into corners, wiping wood-
work and window frames
. Especially wonderful for
Venetian blinds.
NANCY GURWIN,

circuit, has decided to pre-
sent her company in a form
of repertory theater at the

evening, Nancy and Edgar
Guest HI will perform Neil
Simon's "Last of The Red
Hot Lovers" ... Saturday
nights, Nancy and Joe Lan-
nert will do the musical "I
Do! I Do!"
- Beginning soon, Nancy
Gurwi„Productions will
present t he comedy "The
Owl and the Pussycat” at
Mama Mia Restaurant on

W. Eight Mile in Southfield
. . Nancy's next musical
will be the smash Neil
Simon hit, "They're Playing
Our Song."
These events are the cul-
mination of five years hard
work and dedication to the
best in entertainment that
can be offered by the very
versatile and extremely
talented Nancy Gurwin.
Her production com-
pany began in January
1977 with "I Do! I Do!"
opening at the historic
Botsford Inn starring
Nancy and Phil Marcus
Esser ... During the next
several years this show
has been presented at
various metro Detroit lo-
cations and has become
the company's most suc-
cessful traveling show.
Nancy Gurwin Dinner
Theater has the prestigious
distinction of having pro-
duced the longest running'
show in Detroit, "I Da!! Do!'
... currently being per-
formed at Mama Mia's in
Union Lake.
During the past five
years, the company has
been responsible for the
production of numerous
musicals and comedies .
Nancy herself starred excel-
lently in all the musicals
. . . "I Do! I Do!", "Once
Upon a Mattress," "Funny
Girl," "Guys and Dolls" and
"Annie Get Your Gun."
