Bond Luncheon Will Honor Lillian Fischer

Miss Fischer opened the
Greater Detroit Bond office
in 1951 as the youngest staff
member in the country. As-
signed the posts of office
manager and Women's Di-
vision director, she or-
ganized the first Bond func-
tion, held May 1, 1951. In
1954 she was the first
Women's Division director
to join a national Israel
Bond fact-finding mission to
Israel.

She returned to Israel in
1966. Her last professional
visit to Israel coincided with
her 25th year in the Bond
organization and Miss
Fischer was the recipient of
a special gold coin struck to •
commemorate the 25th an-
niversary of Bonds.
She was the first profes-
sional to direct a fashion
show on behalf of Bonds,
held in 1952 in the home of
Mrs. Samuel Hamburger.
She was the first in the na-
tion to present a city-wide
fashion show and the first to
introduce a children's fash-
ion show.

In 1957, Miss Fischer
transferred to California
where she was Los
Angeles Women's Di-
vision director and direc-
tor of the West Coast
Women's Division. In
1959 she joined the field
staff of the national
Women's Division.

She returned to Detroit in
1966 and was re-assigned
the post of director of the
Women's Division and es-
tablished the Medical Di-
vision.
Miss Fischer attended
Wayne State University,
the University of Detroit
and the Detroit Business
Institute.
