The Bnai Brith Hillel
Foundation at the Univer-
sity of Michigan announces
a varied program of events
for the month of September,
beginning with its annual
open house Thursday from
8:30 to 11 p.m. The first
wine and cheese party for
grad students will be 9 p.m.
Sept. 12.
Hillel offers a kosher deli
every Sunday evening at 6
p.m. The first deli of the new
year will be Sept. 13, with
all food offered at a half
price special. Israeli danc-
ing is held every Sunday

ment will be the guest
speaker at Hillel's lox and
bagels brunch Sept. 10. His
topic will be, "Television in
the Courtroom: On Fairness
and Freedom." The program
begins at 11 a.m. and is open
to the public.
Jacobo-- Kovadloff, direc-
tor of Latin Affairs for the
American Jewish Commit-
tee, will be on the Ann
Arbor campus Sept. 15 for a
program jointly sponsored
by the AJCommittee and
Hillel. He will address a fa-
culty luncheon and meet
with student leaders in the
afternoon.
' The Jewish Young Pro-
fessionals group will hold a
picnic 2 p.m. Monday at the
home of Neil Rand, 207
Montgomery. Another pic-
nic is planned Sept. 13 from
1 to 7 p.m. at Gallup Park.
The group will sponsor a
"Brunch With Bach" at the
Detroit Institute of Arts
Sept. 20 at 11:30 a.m. Cars
will leave Ann Arbor at 10
a.m. Havurat Shabat, an-
other group of grad students
and young professionals,
will hold informal services
and a potluck dinner (veg-
etarian) Sept. 18.
Meekreh (Jewish Hap-
penings on the Hill) and
the East Quad Jewish Ac-
tivities Office both have
their own schedules of
activities in the dorms for
the month of September.
Hillel's Beit Midrash be-
gins Sept. 21 with a full pro-
gram of evening Judaica
courses including Hebrew
(three levels), Yiddish (two
levels), Bible, Talmud,
Jewish history, Israeli
music, modern Israeli liter-
ature, the Jewish life cycle
and Jewish women's issues.
Celebration of Jewish
Arts, Hillel's new subscrip-
tion series of Jewish cul-
tural events, begins Oct. 19
with Theodore Bikel at The
Power Center for the Per-
forming Arts. Individuals
wishing to purchase tickets
