The Best of Everything
(Continued from Page 31)
she's eating his food . . . at
the new Ram's Horn that
opened April 1 on Telegraph
north of Square Lake Road
in Bloomfield Hills . . .
where Al is partners with
Chris Refaill, Tom Ferris
and James Spear.
Ram's Horn is one of the
fastest growing chains in
Michigan . . . It was
founded over 20 years ago
. . . but in the last two
years has rapidly grown to
15.
The Bloomfield Hills
Ram's Horn, in its beautiful
setting, seats 150 mostly in
booths, plus counter with
seven padded stools . . .
The clean operation is open
24 hours . . . with 60 em-
ployees managed by Bob
Matley, Doug Longheart
and midnights by Dave
Dangovian.
Its decor of quiet tan
and brown tones with
wicker chairs, padded
seats and padded booths,
also includes two ceiling
whirling paddle fans
from Iz Cohen's Center
Electric.
While there I tried an-
other Slimmery dish the
Ram's Horns are becoming
so popular with . . . Quite
wonderful that something
like the Chicken Creole is so
delicious . . . (Four ounces
of poultry, three ounces of
tomato puree) . . . and
comes with a five-ounce
vegetable salad . . . Also
had a Weight Watchers
Frosted Treat and can't get
over. the orange sherbet's
creamy goodness.
Bea and Iz Cohen with
Ann and Bill Feldman are
among a lot of folks happy
that a Ram's Horn is on
Telegraph in Bloomfield
Hills . . . It's "just around
the corner" now.
HUSBAND, wife and son
cooking team is at New
Garden Chinese Res-
taurant, Nine Mile and
Coolidge in Oak Park's A &
P Shopping Center . . . Foo
Lee, wife Tong Lee and their
son Wing Lee . . . To keep
the family kitchen together,
Foo's brother Choy Lee is
also in there cooking . . .
All can prepare the
Mandarin-style, Szechuan
and Cantonese specialties
at New Garden.
ALEXANDER THE
GREAT is namesake for
restaurant owned by Pete
Vasiliou and Nine Mile Rd.
west of Coolidge in Oak
Park . . . Eventually, Pete
will have one wall muraled
telling of his history . . .
Alexander's is becoming
noted for its low prices and
variety of breakfast spe-
cials, lunches and dinners.
Few places can beat the
tuna salad . . . when it is
made by Pete.
ALTHOUGH THE
Michelob Concert Series
began at Pine Knob last
Sunday : . . for the summer
.. PK's 10th season won't
officially begin until June 1
. . That's when Paul Anka
comes in.
THE LOVING CUP
with songstress Marlene
Hill are at Henry's Place on
Ford Rd., a block west of
Southfield, through May 30.
WOODY HERMAN and
his big band will kick off the
10th anniversary season of
Chuck Muer's P'Jazz, June
10th, on the poolside terrace
at Hotel Pontchartrain.
The early evening jazz
concert series will run Mon-
days and Wednesdays
through Aug. 26 with the
Pontch also hosting one of
the Montreux-Detroit Jazz
Festival concerts on the ter-
race Sept. 2 in a format
similar to the easy. going
P'Jazz style.
A special P'Jazz concert
featuring Dixieland music
is planned for the evening of
the Freedom Festival
fireworks, June '30. -
Reserved seating will be
available at P'Jazz, while
other jazz buffs may choose
general admission tickets,
enabling them to mingle,
munch and enjoy the music.
P'Jazz began with an
eight-show season in 1972
which featured three local
bands . . . The series has
grown to include top na-
tional acts, while continu-
ing to provide a stage for
