QUESTIONS ABOUT
vitamins and nutrition
asked the most of Healthy
Jones' Joan Wittenberg .. .
Why is it important to
.use cold pressed oils?
Cold pressed oils are defi-
nitely better for you. They
are polyunsaturated 'and
low in cholesterol. The oil
remains liquid at room
temperature and stays liq-
uid when we digest it in-
stead of clogging up inside
of us. When they cold proc-
ess an oil this is actually
pressing the oil out of the
seed or nut manually, in-
stead of using a chemical
solvent to do it. At Healthy
Jones we use safflower oil in
, all our recipes and for cook-
ing because we know it's
better for your health and
that's what we're interested
in.
Is 100 percent stone
ground whole wheat
flour better for you?
Yes! Yes! Yes! When we
eat stone ground flour, we
are getting all the natural
vitamins. It has bran, wheat
germ and the fiber part of
the wheat itself. When you
are eating enriched White
bread, they have taken out
52 different nutrients and
only put back in about seven
or. eight artificial ones.
Stick with the natural way
to go — 100 percent stone
ground whole wheat is the
best.
I use not only all the
brains I have, but all I can
borrow.
