FORMER YASSOO res-
taurant on Woodward may
become a Mexican eatery.
BUNNY REISLER is
thinking of getting contact
lenses . . . after a recent em-
barrassing incident ... Was
at Larco's on W. Six Mile
with Bernie Bragg . . . with-
out her usual glasses ("I
only wear them to see with")
. . . Coming back from the
ladies room, Bunny sat at
the table of another gent .. .
and gulpingly apologized
because he wasn't Bernie.
CHARLIE PAPPAS
was sitting at the table vis-
iting with a husband and
wife when he was called to
the phone . . . Call it fate or
whatever . . . because
shortly after, an automobile
came hurtling through the
window of his back dining
room at Rialto Restaurant
on Woodward about 3 p.m.
. . . throwing the woman 15
feet and pinning the man
under a chair that served as
a jack and saved his life. The
woman died Sunday.
The ironic thing is that
every parking spot is usu-
ally taken around this time
. . . The man who missed
an opening crashed through
meters and stumps as the
auto went out of control and
into the one vacant spot.
He ran away but Charlie
and a couple of customers
caught him.
The center wall at Rial-
to's was broken as well as a
lot of interior damage.

To Us,
Every Function Is
An Occasion
is in town . . . and the fun,
frivolity and gaiety of this
annual presentation by
Moslem Shrine is enjoyed
by folks young and old.
Press preview of the cir-
cus exhibited some acts
never seen before . . . like
the boxing kangaroo.
In the lunchroom, John
"Lefty" Mitoff was cutting
beef for the press people,
many of whom recognized
him as the one-time owner
of Petco's Bar-B-Q on W. Mc
Nichols . . . Son Pete Mitoff
manages The Nosh on W. 10
Mile near Evergreen . . . No
wonder the rice pudding
with raisins and bread pud-
ding were so good at the
Shrine Circus lunchroom
. . . Both were made by
John.
LEMON PEEL on
Woodward in Birmingham
now has movies to go with
its theatrical decor and
motif . . . On the walls are
posters of hit Broadway
shows galore . . . and in the
bar area George and Fran
Kales show top movies .. .
Only difference is there's no
charge for the Lemon Peel
flickers . . . and they don't
have buttered popcorn.
The food is still good at
Lemon Peel . . . especially
those big meal style omelet-
tes of all kinds and hambur-
gers of every description .. .
plus some of the best baby
lamb chops you'll find any-
where . . . and a bevy of
Greek dishes.
GENITA'S
Hole-in-
the-Wall . . . on E. Main in
Northville . . . That's the
name of a small 45-seater
restaurant . . . It was origi-
nally a meat_market with a
TV repair shop next door .. .
The market is now a coun-
try store with antiques,
groceries and home-made
candies . . . When the TV
shop went out, they made a
"hole in the wall" for people
to step through and visit its
restaurant.
In about three weeks,
though, things will change
. . . The dining room will
seat 100 because of the
many .folks who have tried
to get in.

By DORA FRAENKEL
LONDON — Eager vis-
itors hastened to acquire
the works of Minn Fry at the
opening of her exhibition at
the Centaur Gallery, High-
gate Village, London.
Mrs. Fry was born in
Johannesburg, South Af-
rica, where she received her
BA in English and Art His-
tory , is married to a leading
London dermatologist and
has three children. She is
the daughter of Dr. and Mrs.
Jack Zidel who now live in
London.
Mrs. Fry's heavy impasto
has given way to a fresh
world of glowing landscapes
in limpid aquarells which
reflect the moods of sky and
clouds reminiscent of
Turner. Her etchings cap-
ture similar reflections of
nature, both serene and
turbulent.
