JERUSALEM — Former
U.S. Sen. Frank Church,
outgoing chairman of the

Reagan Administration to
make a complete separation
between oil policy and atti
tude towards the Arab-
Israeli dispute.

Military Trade

NEW YORK (ZINS) —
Business Week magazine
says Israeli exports have in-
creased largely due to mili-
tary sales. Business week
reported that Israel sells $2
billion worth of electronics
and optical equipment to
China.
The most sought-after Is-
raeli materiel are the Gab-
riel naval missile, the
Arava short take-off trans-
port plane, the Uzi sub-
machinegun, the Galil rifle,
artillery radar and com-
munications equipment.

Moses, the Isiaelites
crossed on dry land in the
midst of the Red Sea.
When they finally came to
safety, the Israelite hos-
tages broke into song,
giving expression to their
mingled horror, triumph,
and gratitude to their
Redeeming God. Jewish
tradition therefore calls
that Shabat Shira, the
Sabbath of Song.
We can only hope and
pray that the weekend of
Saturday, Jan. 17, 1981,
will remain the Sabbath of
Song of Liberation for the
American hostages as it has
been for nearly 4,000 years
the Sabbath of Song for the
liberation of the children of
Israel.
