Palestine Week here, which
began with the marking of
Palestine Day last Friday,
was to be subdued.
"This is very bad timing
for a Palestine celebration,"
one diplomat opined. "For
one thing, the prestige of
the Palestine Liberation
Organization has reached a
new nadir as a result of the
war between two Moslem
countries that have adopted
the Palestinian cause.
"For another, the Arab
world is presently divided,
as it has not been for a long
time. The Arab states are in
a state of confusion and dis-
array and the uncertainties
concerning a new American
Administration and its
Mideast policy are only con-
tributing to the confusion."
This is the third consecu-
tive year that the United
Nations celebrated Pales-
tine Week. The celebration
of the week starts each year
on Nov. 29, which is offi-
cially designated by the UN
as Palestine Day. The Nov.
29 date was selected by the
PLO because that was the
day in 1947 when the UN
voted to partition Palestine.
In another develop-
ment here, a three-
member UN inquiry
group has recommended
that the Security Council
adopt effective measure
"to prevail on Israel to
cease forthwith its set-
tlement policy in all its
aspects in the occupied
Arab territories, includ-
ing Jerusalem." The
group consists of the
representatives of Por-
tugal, Bolivia and Zam-
bia.

The Palestine debate is

Who would want to do such harm?
To parents as wonderful as mine —
Blindly led puppets with a Swastika sign.
We must all remember during out time,
For the future, never again, such a crime.
I'm so thankful my parents are here today
God helped them out and led the way.
I admire them, they are so strong,
To have endured such pain and unjust wrong.

To stand united and forever herein,
Remember Hanuka as a gift to all of us,
Of our parents who came out strong from the Holocaust.
