Dr. Martin Hart Appointed
Bar-Han Education Head

L. Milgrom, Bar-Ilan Uni-
versity's general chairmen,
have announced the ap-
pointment of Dr. Martin
Hart as vice chairman for
education. Dr. Hart will or-
ganize a series of informa-
tional meetings that will
expand the community's
awareness of Bar-Ilan's ac-
tivities, both on its
Ramat-Gan campus and in
Detroit.
Dr. Hart has served as

Ambassador to Canada
and currently special
assistant to the president,
Bar-Ilan University, will
speak on recent dramatic
developments in the
Middle East.
A native of Czechos-
lovakia, Shalev received a
degree in international re-
lations from the American
University in Washington,
D.C. He fought with the
British in World War II, and
was a major in the Israel De-
fense Forces during the War
of Independence.
Shalev has recently re-
tired after 30 years in the
Israel Foreign Service. He
served as Israel's Amb4s-
sador to Canada from
until last year. Previodb-
he was director of the
Foreign Ministry's Africa
Division, as well as director
of the Consular Division.
His posts abroad, in addi-
tion to Canada, included the
positions of ambassador to
Ghana, Consul-General in
. Los Angeles, and Minister
at the Israel Embassy in
Washington.
