Super Sunday, Pre-Campaign Officers Named for AJC--IEF

Sol Cicurel has been ap-
pointed chairman of Super
Sunday, the community-
wide telephone solicitatioh
drive Jan. 18 on behalf of
the 1981 Allied Jewish
Campaign-Israel Emer-
gency Fund.
Cicurel will oversee the
massive telephone blitz,
aimed at reaching some
12,000 area Jews who have
not yet made a contribution
to the 1981 Campaign.
More than 300 commu-
- volunteers, active with
Campaign, the Jewish
Welfare Federation and its
agencies, will serve as
phone-callers for the first-
time event.
Cicurel has been active
with the Campaign for
many years. A 1981 pre-
Campaign associate
chairman, he has served
as pre-Campaign vice
chairman and as chair-
man of the Mercantile
Division.
He is a member of the
boards of Detroit Service
Group and United Hebrew
Schools and also has served
on the board of the Jewish
Community Center.

Klein also has chaired the
Food and Services Division.
He is president of the
Jewish Community Center
and a member of the boards
of the Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration, United Jewish
Charities and Detroit Serv-
ice Group.
Laker has served as pre-
Campaign- vice chairman
and as co-chairman of the
Services-Arts and Crafts
Division. He is a member of
the board of Detroit Service
Group.
Lucow has chaired the
Junior, Metropolitan and
Professional divisions
and has served as pre-
Campaign vice chair-
man. He is a past
president of United
Hebrew Schools, which
he now serves as a direc-
tor, and chairman of the
Midrasha. He is also -a
member of the boards of
the Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration and Detroit Serv-
ice Group and is associ-
ate chairman of Federa-
tion's Culture and Edu-
cation Budget and Plan-
ning Division.

Marvin H. Goldnian and
David S. Mondry, general
chairman of the 1981 Allied
Jewish Campaign-Israel
Emergency Fund, have an-
nounced the appointment of
Lester S. Burton, Circurel,
Sol R. Colton, Stanley D.
Frankel, Merrill Gordon,
Thomas I. Klein, Irving
Laker, Milton Lucow,
Philip S. Minkin, Robert H.
Naftaly, Bob Rosenthal,
Bernard H. Stollman and
Bruce E. Thal as pre-
Campaign associate chair-
men.
Burton served as co-
chairman of the Real Estate
Division for three years. He
is chairman of the
Tamarack Hills Authority
and a member of the boards
of the Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration and Jewish Home
for Aged.
Colton is a former co-
chairman of the Food and
Services Division: He is a
member of the boards of the
Jewish Welfare Federation,
Jewish Home for Aged and
Detroit Service Group.
Frankel, treasurer of
the Jewish Welfare Fed-

Stollman co-chaired

for the past three years.
He is a member of Feder-
ation's Culture and Edu-
cation Budget and Plan-
ning Division and serves
on the board of Resettle-,
ment Service.
This is Thal's second year
as pre-Campaign associate
chairman. He has served as
pre-Campaign vice chair-
man and as chairman of the
Professional Division. A
past president of the Jewish
Vocational Service, he cur-
rently is a member of the
executive committee of the
Jewish Welfare Federation
and chairman of its Com-
munity Services budget and
planning division.

Budget Seminar
at Morris Branch

The Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration will hold a budget
and planning seminar for
members active in the allo-
cations process 9 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the
Jewish Community Cen-
ter's Jimmy Prentis Morris
Branch.
Participants will be those
who serve on Federation's
Capital Needs Committee,
Community Services Di-
vision, Culture and Educa-
tion Division and National
and Community Relations
Agencies Division.
These groups are repon-
sible for the distribution of
proceeds raised through the
Allied Jewish Campaign-
Israel Emergency Fund.
