drama on the life of
Jabotinsky will include Jan
Peerce, Roberta Peters,
Misha Raitzin and Cantor
Zvee Aroni.
The entertainment in-
dustry is also being re -
presented by Leo Jaffe,
chairman of Columbia
Pictures.
About 1,800 persons from
throughout the U.S. are ex-
pected to attend the event
which will mark the 100th
anniversary of the birth of
Jabotinsky.
The keynote speaker will
be Prime Minister
Menahem Begin of Israel.
In advance of the dinner,
Republican Presidential
candidate Ronald Reagan
sent the following message
to the dinner committee:
"Few are the leaders
who in their own lifetime
have become a legend.
Zeev Vladimir
Jabotinsky to whom you
pay tribute was such a
leader. He was a soldier,

22 to pay tribute to Zeev
Vladimir Jabotinsky.
Mayor Edward Koch pro-
claimed Oct. 22 "Jabotinsky
Day" which marked the be-
ginning of the Jabotinsky
centennial year.
The proclamation_ paid,
tribute to the :legendary
Zeev Jabotinsky, states-
man, soldier, poet and ar-
chitect of the state of Israel,
whose accomplishments are
proudly recorded in the
struggle for the indepen-
dence of Israel during the
first four decades of the 20th
Century."
Jabotinsky was the
founder of the Jewish
Legion in World War I,
the Betar and the Irgun
Zvai Leumi, and in the-
late 1930s, warned Euro-
pean Jewry of the im-
pending doom of the
Holocaust. He died in
New York in 1940.
Among those present at
the City Hall gathering was
Israel Knesset member
Haim Corfu, chairman of
the Knesset's Likud Bloc,
and Paul Kedar, Israel's
Consul General in New
York. Kedar read a special
message from Premier
Menahem Begin of Israel to
