A new star is born — a symbol of peace be-
tween Egypt and Israel. This new star has been
created by a fusion of the five-pointed star of the
Arab and Egyptian nation and the six-pointed star
of David, symbol of Israel.
The star's creator, Yaacov Agam, uses this
new peace symbol as a repeated motif of his
lithograph "18 Peace Stars," which commemo-
rates the singing of the peace treaty between
Egypt and Israel.

Yaacov Agam's "CandelabrAgam" is a unique crea-
tion inspired by and synthesizing both ancient Jewish
tradition and the contemporary kinetic movement.
For 8 days of the year it is a Chanukah Menorah,
complete with special cups for lighting the CHanukah
candles. The rest of the year it is an exquisite sculpture,
consisting of a heavy brass base and moveable stems
which can be rotated at will. The nine "dreidels," one
atop each stem, spin on precision ball bearings.
By gently moving the stems to any desired position,
and by spinning the dreidels, the viewer, in effect,
creates his own sculpture. The CandelabrAgam is
availalbe -gold-plated or Rhodium, plated, each in an
edition of 225. It is 9" high, the base is 4" deep, and
with its stems fully extended it measures 14" wide.
Each sculpture is numbered and signed by the artist.

Each lithograph is individually numbered and
hand-signed by the artist.

YAACOV AGAM

One of the foremost leaders of the kinetic art move-
ment, Yaacov Agam is a master of tactile media — art
which invites the viewer to touch it, move it and change
it, thus participating, as it were, in the artistic creation.
Agam has been honored by many ofthe world's most
important museums. Among his major public works are
sculptures at the Museum of Modern Art and at the
Juilliard School of Music at Lincoln Center in New York,
at the National Convention Center in Jerusalem, at the
Israeli Presidential Residence, and at the Pompidou
Center in Paris.
