The League of Jewish
Women's Organizations of
Greater Detroit will honor
presidents of local Jewish
women's organizations at
its all-presidents meeting
noon Thursday at Adat
Shalom Synagogue.
Mrs. Stanley Baar,
league president, will of-
ficiate. Rabbi Efry Spectre
of Adat Shalom Synagogue
will give the invocation and
greetings.
The guest speaker will
be Norma Goldman,
assistant professor in the
department of Greek and

Latin at Wayne State
University. She will
speak on the "Art of An-
cient Cooking."
Luncheon will be served
at a nominal fee. Adat
Shalom Sisterhood
President is Mrs. Daniel
Knopper. The public is in-
vited.

leman.
Guest speaker will be Dr.
Ruth Gruber, prize-winning
author, foreign correspon-
dent and Middle East
scholar. •
Dr. Gruber has written 14
books, six of them on Israel,
including the best-seller,
"Israel on the Seventh
Day." Her latest book,
"Raquela: A Woman of Is-
rael," won the National
Jewish Book Award as the
best book of the year on Is-
rael...
As a foreign corre-
spondent, she attended
the signing of the peace
treaty between Israel,
Egypt and the United
States and the autonomy
meeting in Alexandria,
Egypt.- She also repre-
sented some 150 news-
papers during the
Sadat-Begin conference
in Egypt.

traveled to Vietnam and
Korea for her book on adopt-
ing war orphans, called
