Members of the United Foundation Heart of Gold
Award. Council met recently to make plans for the
1980 awards program. Any man or woman who has
made an outstanding volunteer contribution to his or
her community is eligible for a Heart of Gold award
and nominations will be accepted through Nov. 3.
Groups or individuals may contact the United Found-
ation at 965-7100 to submit the name of a community
volunteer. Finalizing plans are, from left: Mrs. George
Rubin representing American Association of Univer-
sity Women-Inner Branch Council; Mrs. David Pol-
lack, representing Jewish Welfare Federation; Mrs.

Richard Straus, co-editor of
the Middle East Policy Sur-
vey, a bi-weekly newsletter
from Washington and the
Middle East. His topic will
be "U.S. Policy in the Mid-
dle East: During and After
the Election Year."
Straus also is president of
the Middle East Policy
Group, a consulting firm.
Before becoming co-editor of
the survey, he was a lob-
byist with the American Is-
rael Public Affairs Commit-
tee for 21/2 years.
From 1971 to 1973, he
was legislative and press
assistant to former Con-
gressman Peter H. B. Fre-
linghuysen of New Jer-
sey, who was the senior
Republican on the House
Foreign Affairs Commit-
tee.
Straus was graduated
from Pennsylvania State
University, and attended
the University of Paris and
the Loudon School of Eco-
nomics. He participated in
the Nixon and Carter
Presidential campaigns
during 1972 and 1976.
The community is in-
vited. There is no charge.

Hadassah president. Arlene
Gould is vice president of
education and the program
chairman is Ida Joyrich.
