Sheraton Southfield Hotel.
Dr. Richard Ruzumna,
psychoanalyst, will speak
on "The Emotional Prob-
lems of Diabetes." Admis-
sion is free, and diabetics
and their families are in-
vited.

Schwartz is a life-long
member of Bnai Moshe,
having born into a
founding family. He is trea-
surer of Bnai Moshe Men's
Club and was honored by
Bnai Moshe last December
for his 50 years of service as
an usher. He is active in
Louis Marshall Lodge of
Bnai Brith, Craftsman
Masonic Lodge, Crescent
Shrine Club, and is a past
treasurer of the Great
Lakes Region of Federation
of Jewish Men's Clubs.
Ida
Mendelssohn
Schwartz has been the
recipient of numerous
awards from the City of
Hope for her fund-raising
accomplishments as a
member of City of Hope
Helen Rosenberg Cancer
Fighters. She is also
active in the synagogue
sisterhood and Hadas-
sah.
Tribute dinner co-
chairmen are Bernard
Klein and Abe Pasternak.
In advance of the dinner, a
leadership reception will be
held at 8 p.m. Wednesday,
in the Bnai Moshe Board
Room.
Israel Amitai, Israeli
producer, director and
writer of television and
radio public affairs pro-
grams and former editor of
the newspaper Davar, will
be speaker at the advance
event.

Contest for
Journalism Prize
Shirlee Iden, suburban
life editor of the Southfield
Eccentric, has won second
place for family living pages
among weekly newspapers
in the 1980 National Better
Newspaper Competition,
sponsored by the National
Newspaper Association.
Mrs. Iden's award is for
feature articles based on a
visit to Jewish inmates at
Jackson Prison on Rosh
Hashana.
The winning stories,
which were published last
year in the Southfield Ec-
centric, were illustrated
with photographs taken by
her husband, Jack.
