Israel Food Processor Companies to Expand

HAIFA — Three Israeli
companies are planning to
compete against Sunfrost
Ltd. of Ashdod to produce
frozen fruit and vegetable
products, mostly for export.
Koor Foods will install
freezing facilities at its

Pri-Galil plant in Hatzor,
and Upper Galilee de-
velopment town.
Yakhin, a fruit proces-
sing firm, reportedly in-
tends to add frozen food
capabilities to its large
cannery in Petah Tikva.

In that context the corn-
pany is studying foreign
markets, mainly in Bri-
tain and Scandinavia, as
well as innovative freez-
ing methods. One of the
products being consi-
dered is frozen apple

slices. -
Milos, a cooperative of
Western Galilee farm vil-
lages, has bought equip-
ment for the production of
fresh frozen corn.
Nothing ever happens but
once in this world.
