Flint Obituaries
J.B. Arenson
Jerome Benjamin Aren-
son, co-founder of A and S
Supply Co., died Aug. 5 at
age 66.
Born in Newark, N.J.,
Mr. Arenson lived 32 years
in Flint. He was a member
of Flint's Temple Beth El
and Jewish War Veterans.
He resided at 1407 Brook-
wood.
He is survived by his wife,
Helen; a son, Michael of Al-
buquerque, N.M.; two
daughters, Mrs. David (De-
borah) Boye of Santa Cruz,
Calif., and Roberta of
Sarasota, Fla.; and a sister,
Bertha of New York.
Winners of major awards presented during the 84th
convention were (I to r) Dr. Thomas E. Mathews of
Three Rivers, Keyman of the Michigan Optometric
Association, Dr. Edwin L. Novak of Flint, winner of the
Emil Arnold Award for contributions to the association
journal, Dr. Martin E. Harkins of the Ferris State Col-
lege of Optometry, association Student of the Year,
Mrs. Benjamin H. Stein of West Bloomfield, Mrs. O.D.
of the Year of the association auxiliary and Dr. James
M. Flynn of Westland, Keyman and recipient of a retir-
ing association board member certificate. A third Key-
man award winner, Dr. Richard T. Carrigan of Lansing,
was not present for the photo.
