Bakery Products
Now Kosher

New Modern Bakery has
come under the rabbinical
supervision of the Met-
ropolitan Kashrut Council
of Michigan.
The wholesale bakery, lo-
cated on Linwood in Detroit,
produces 29 varieties of
breads and rolls, all of
which are kosher and
pareve. Included among
them are halla, rye bread,
corn bread, black bread,
pumpernickel, kaiser rolls,
onion rolls, halla rolls and
French bread.
The entire kosher line of
breads and rolls will be
available immediately after
Psssover, throughout the
state of Michigan, and in
major cities in Ohio and In-
diana. In Michigan, New
Modern baked goods will be
available at Farmer Jack
supermarkets and other
fine food stores in Oak Park,
Southfield, Bloomfield Hills
and Mt. Clemens.

Social Science Program
Sponsors Study in Israel

Israel will be the setting
again for a summer social
science program offered by
the office of overseas study
at Michigan State Univer-
sity. From June 18 to July
30, students will study,
travel and work in Israel
under the direction of Dr.
Jacob Climo, assistant pro-
fessor of social science at
MSU.
The program begins in
Jerusalem and Tel Aviv,
with more than two weeks
of orientation and classes
and an initial tour of the
northern region of Israel.
Students also will partici-
pate in the cultural and rec-
reational activities avail-
able in Jerusalem.
The next three weeks are
spent on a kibutz, where
students work to earn their
room and board, and attend
classes four evenings a
week. The final four days
involve independent stu-
dent travel, followed by a
class reunion and depar-
