Campaign Report Meeting on Sunday
At the midway point in
- the 1980 Allied Jewish
Campaign - Israel Emer-
gency Fund, a progress re-
port will be made by chair-
men of the nine Campaign
divisions, 10 a.m. Sunday at
the Jewish Community
Center Studio Theater.
Asher Naim, Israel con-
sul general in Philadelphia,
will speak following conti-
nental breakfast.
A second report meeting
is scheduled for April 27 at
Cong. Bnai David. Total
pledges and amounts raised
to date will be announced.

Asher Naim is former
first secretary of the Israel
embassy in Washington,
D.C. As a member of Israel's

Naim served in Kenya,
Uganda and several other
African nations.
Born in Tripoli, Naim
joined the Foreign Ministry
staff in 1956 and served for
a time as cultural and press
attache at Israel's embassy
in Tokyo.

Research- Project
Seeks Students
The Wayne State Univer-
sity Chemistry Department
is conducting a nation-wide
search for outstanding
chemistry students to par-
ticipate in a national
undergraduate research
program.
Sponsored by the Na-
tional Science Foundation
the 10-week undergraduate
research program June
16-Aug. 22, is designed to
provide firsthand experi-
ence in the scientific re-
search process.
Dr. Morton Raban, pro-
fessor of chemistry, is direc-
tor of the program.
Students who have at-
tained junior standing
and are enrolled in any
college or university are
eligible. In exceptional
cases sophomores will be
admitted. Applicants
must be of United States
citizenship and must not
have previously partici-
pated in an NSF-URP
program.
Up to eight quarter hours
of credit in undergraduate
research can be earned by
successful completion of the
program. No tuition fees
will be charged.
Applicants should send a
complete application, a
transcript, and two letters
of reference to Prof. Morton

Deadline is Tuesday.
