Adler, Prof. Joseph A. Stein
and Prof. Schlomo Ben Ef-
raim of the Departments of
Oncology and Human Mic-
robiology of Sackler School
of Medicine, have just com-
breast cancer patients deal-
ing with the nature of im-
mune malfunction and de-
termining treatment ap-
proaches capable of bolster-
ing the competence of the
immune system.
Although certain in-
evitable treatments of
breast cancer patients
suppress the activity of
the immune system, the
team of investigators has
demonstrated the possi-
bility of activating the
immune system by com-
bination with proper
immunotherapy, to coun-
teract the suppression.
In view of the conclusions
of this study, Drs. Adler,

cording to a Public Opinion
Research Institute poll of
1,650 Israelis, some 35. 3
percent said they favored
President Carter over Sen.
Kennedy as far as Israel's
interests were concerned.
Some 28.9 percent fa-
vored Kennedy and 10.8
percent favored neither.
