Detroit high school students and teachers, reci-
pients of Marshall-Stepp scholarships established by
the America-Israel Friendship League met with
Michigan AFL-CIO President William C. Marshall
and UAW Vice President Marc Stepp to present the
two labor leaders with gifts they brought from Israel.
The scholarships enabled the Detroit students to par-
ticipate in the America-Israel High School Student
Exchange Program.

1 13 cup corn oil
2 eggs
3 tbsp. apple Juice
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
, /2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
a pinch of nutmeg
Preheat oven to 350 de-
grees. Combine all ingredients
in a large bowl. Mix
thoroughly. Pour batter Into a
well-greased 9x5-inch loaf
pan. Bake 30-35 minutes or
until cake tastes done. Makes
at least eight slices.

suit of a terrorist gang after
a clash along the border in
which one Israeli soldier
was wounded by a hand
grenade.
The Israelis advanced as
