Poems by Josephson Express
Grief Over Nazi Atrocities

Deeply affected by the
mass murder of his family
by the Nazis, I. Zelig
Josephson wrote poems and
authored letters exl
rssing
his grief. He also sang the
glories of nature in his poe-
tic moods.
His writings appear in a
volume entitled "The Sole
Solution" (Exposition
Press). It was edited by
Melvin H. Naiman.
Typifying his writings is
this quotation from one of
his poems:

"Is there no friendly
hand to aid
The Jew in his distress?
Shall sadists with impunity
Defenseless Jews- oppress?
Where are your glib-
tongued champions,
Who stress each human's
right
To live, aspire, and serve
his God
According to his light?"

Josephson emigrated

from Johannesburg, South
Africa, to the United States
in 1906. Throughout his life
Josephson retained an.
interest in comparative
philology, archeology and
history.

Explosion Rips
Art Museum

PARIS (JTA) — An anti-
Jewish group, the French
Liberation Front, has
claimed responsibility for
the bombing Jan. 12 of the
Pompidou Modern Art Cen-
ter here "to protest the
Jewish dictatorship, which
is disfiguring France."
The explosion broke win-
dows and twisted girders of
the futuristic building
which has become a top
tourist attraction since it
opened three years ago.
Some of the architects who
planned the center, the
largest of its type in West-
ern Europe, were Jewish.
