Slain Terrorist
Guard's Killer

TEL AVIV (JTA) — A
suspected terrorist killed by
an Israeli patrol near the
Lebanese border last Friday
night may have been the
murderer of Yosef Rosen-
feld, the security chief at
Metullah who was shot to
death last November.
A pistol that belonged to
Rosenfeld was found on the
body of the suspect, iden-
tified as a resident of Gaza.
He was gunned down by
the patrol while attempting
to cross the border into
Lebanon near Margaliot in
the Kiryat Shemona region.
He also carried a bus ticket
from Gaza and a large sum
of money in Israeli and Jor-
danian currencies.
The slaying of Rosenfeld
was unsolved until now.
The killers who stole his
jeep and abandoned it near
Natanya were originally be-
lieved to have been
smugglers who were sur-
prised by the security
guard.
