founder and president of
Garrick Photo Supply, Inc.,
died Jan. 4 at age 80.
Born in Romania, Mr.
Garrick lived 62 years in
Detroit. He retired in 1972.
He was a member of Per-
fection Lodge of the Masons,
a former member of the De-
troit Rotary Club and bene-
fited Detroit Police organ-

George Must, co-owner of
Metropolitan Furniture Co.
in Allen Park, died Jan. 7 at
age 52.
A native Detroiter, Mr.
Must was a member of

Carl Moskowitz

Carl I. Moskowitz, a
potato broker, grower and
shipper, who was active in
efforts on behalf of the
United Jewish Appeal in
Detroit and in Maine, died
in Presque Isle, Maine, Dec.
27 at age 57.
A native Detroiter, Mr.
Moskowitz was president of
Maine's Bnai Brith and the
Aroostook Hebrew Com-
munity Center, founded by
his father Julius Mos-
kowitz.
He served in the U.S.
Army Infantry in World
War II, received a Bronze
Star and was commissioned
in combat. He was a
member of several commis-
sions and produce organiza-
tions.
He is survived by his wife,
Valerie; a son, Andrew
George of Ft. Lauderdale,
Fla.; four daughters, Mrs.
Steven (Gail) DiPace of
Leominster, Mass., Julia of
New York City, Linda and
Laura; his mother, Lillian
Simon of Lauderhill, Fla.;
two brothers, Sy of
Montreal, Quebec, Canada,
and Ted of Detroit; and two
grandchildren.

Sima Goldstein

Sima Goldstein, former
co-owner with her husband
of Royal Men's Wear in
Royal Oak, died Jan. 4 at
age 78.
Born in Russia, Mrs.
Goldstein and her husband
owned their company from
1938 to 1976. She was a
member of Zedakah Club,
Women of Jewish National
Fund and the Denver
League.
She leaves her husband,
Abraham; a son, Dr. Jack J.
Gabe; a daughter, Mrs. Jack
(Rhoda) Adelman; a
brother, Bernard Pepper; a
sister, Ida Paper; and six
grandsons.

Ruth Cohen, a retired
Oak Park school teacher,
died Jan. 7.
A native Detroiter, Miss
Cohen taught and was a
counselor in the Oak Park
school system for 20 years.
She retired in 1978.
She was graduated in
1936 with a BA degree in
education from Wayne
State University and holds
master's degrees in counsel-
ing from WSU and Michi-
gan State University.
She leaves her mother,
Mrs. Joseph (Ida) Cohen;
and four brothers, Benja-
min Colman and Abraham
of Jacksonville, Fla., Mor-
ton of Lutz, Fla., and Sid-
