Carl Moskowitz Carl I. Moskowitz, a potato broker, grower and shipper, who was active in efforts on behalf of the United Jewish Appeal in Detroit and in Maine, died in Presque Isle, Maine, Dec. 27 at age 57. A native Detroiter, Mr. Moskowitz was president of Maine's Bnai Brith and the Aroostook Hebrew Com- munity Center, founded by his father Julius Mos- kowitz. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry in World War II, received a Bronze Star and was commissioned in combat. He was a member of several commis- sions and produce organiza- tions. He is survived by his wife, Valerie; a son, Andrew George of Ft.
