Canada and Mexico.
Victor Herman
Loses Appeal
The Michigan Court of
Appeals has upheld a
Wayne County Circuit
Court decision dismissing
the demand for damages
brought by Victor Herman
against Ford Motor Co.
Herman went to Russia in
1931 to work in a Ford
plant. He later decided to
stay in Russia. In 1937 he
was arrested on political
charges and spent 40 years
in a Siberian camp.
The court ruled that
Herman's case violated the
six-year statute of
tions. Herman had alleged
that Ford was obligated to
supply legal assistance in
his efforts to leave Russia.
