Cornerstone-Laying Event
Brings Honor for Family

The Larry Schwartz Fam-
ily will have the honor of
setting the cornerstone into
place Sunday at ceremonies
to be held on the site of the
new home of Temple Israel
in West Bloomfield. The
ceremonies will begin at 2
p.m.
Frederic I. Keywell, a
member of the temple's
board of trustees, and Mrs.
Keywell are chairmen of the
cornerstone dedication
event.
The new temple, to be lo-
cated on Walnut Lake Road,
between Farmington and
Drake Roads, will seat
1,000 in the sanctuary, with
room to expand for 800
more. The John R. Herman
Social Hall will accommo-
date 1,000.
Among the other fea-
tures in the new temple
are 12 classrooms, youth
room, library-board
room, administrative
offices, outdoor wedding
and sukka court and
parking for 350 cars.

Pruzbul Mitzva
With Sabbatical
Year of 5740

Cong. Mishkan Israel -
Lubavitcher Center will aid
those who wish to comply
with the mitzva of"pruzbul"
for the upcoming sabbatical
year (shmitta).
In ancient times, every
seventh year was the sab-
batical year and all debts
were cancelled unless the
lender designated a Bet Din
(court) to collect them.
Although a simple dec-
laration in front of wit-
nesses will suffice for the
mitzva, the Lubavitch have
prepared a brief document
for those wishing to do the
mitzva.
