Year of 5740
Cong. Mishkan Israel -
Lubavitcher Center will aid
those who wish to comply
with the mitzva of"pruzbul"
for the upcoming sabbatical
year (shmitta).
In ancient times, every
seventh year was the sab-
batical year and all debts
were cancelled unless the
lender designated a Bet Din
(court) to collect them.
Although a simple dec-
laration in front of wit-
nesses will suffice for the
mitzva, the Lubavitch have
prepared a brief document
for those wishing to do the
mitzva.
