Madison, at which his wife,
Tillie, introduced the entire
family.
A native Detroiter, Madi-
son enlisted in the Army Air
Corps at age 16. After his
service, he was coaxed by a
friend to join the Jewish
War Veterans, and began a
noteworthy career in that
organization.
He was elected national
commander in 1953 in
Chicago. As national com-
mander, Madison fre-
quently spoke out against
Communism.

Sixth Wallenberg
Lecture Is Held
at U. of Michigan

The College of Architec-
ture and Urbari Planning at
the University of Michigan
held its sixth Wallenberg
Lecture on Tuesday.
Guest speaker was James
Marston Fitch, professor of
architecture emeritus and
director emeritus of the
graduate program in histor-
ical preservation at Colum-
bia University.
Dr. Fitch spoke on "The
Cultural Management of
the Built World."
. The Wallenberg Lec-
tures were instituted in
1971 in tribute to U-M
graduate Raoul Wallen-
berg, who - saved
thousands of Jews in
Budapest at the end of
World War II by issuing
false documents and
providing 32 apartment
buildings under the
Swedish flag as safe
houses.
The Soviet Union claims
that Wallenberg died after
the war in a Soviet prison
but many believe he is still
alive. An international
movement has been started
to pressure the Russians to
release information about
him.

The expectation of the
wicked is wrath.
