Beth El Concert to Feature the Oak Park Symphony

Temple Beth El will pre-
sent the Oak Park Sym-
phony Orchestra 3:30 p.m.
April 8 in the Helen L.
DeRoy Sanctuary of the
temple.
The program will feature
Dr. Morris Hochberg as
conductor and Josef Gin-
gold, violin soloist. This will
be the third in a series of

four concerts sponsored by
the Stanley Imerman
Memorial Fund of Temple
Beth El. Prof. Jason H.
Tickton, music director of
the temple, is the music
coordinator for the series.
Dr. Hochberg is the
former assistant con-
certmaster of the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra. He

holds a Doctor of Music
degree from the Univer-
sity of Michigan and
heads the division of
strings at Wayne State
University. He is a former
director and conductor
of the Congress of Strings
in Cincinnati and has
been in his present post
for the past three years.
Gingold is the former con-
certmaster and soloist of the
DSO and served as the dis-
tinguished professor of
music at Indiana Univer-
sity. The recipient of honor-
ary degrees, he is the com-
poser of 40 works and is re-
cording artist for Columbia,
RCA and Fidelio Records.
He has traveled extensively
