Yiddish Actor Jacobson Dies
NEW YORK — Irving
Jacobson;- an actor whose
abilities on the Yiddish
stage were widely recog-
nized, died Sunday at age
80.
Mr. Jacobson was a stal-
wart of the Yiddish theater.
He was often seen opposite
other Yiddish stars, includ-
ing Molly Picon, with whom
he appeared in the comedy,
"Abi Gezunt." He also was a

David Flinker, the veteran
Jewish journalist and
writer, died Dec. 12 at age
81. He was a leading figure
among Jewish journalists in
pre-war Poland.
After arriving in Pales-
tine, he wrote for Haboker
and became a regular corre-
spondent and writer for the
American Yiddish news-
paper, Day-Morning Jour-
nal, and recently, for the
Algemeiner Journal. -
He was a prominent
member of the Tel Aviv
Journalists Association and
an active member of the
presidium of the World Fed-
eration of Jewish Jour-
nalists.
Joseph Levine
Joseph Levine, co-owner
of National News Co., died
Dec. 18.
Born in Lithuania, Mr.
Levine was retired from his
wholesale toy company. He
was a member and past
president of Motor City
Lodge of Bnai Brith and a
member of the Zionist
Organization of Detroit. He
resided at 23580 Beverly,
Oak Park.
Mr. Levine leaves his
wife, Sara; and a son,
Michael of East Lansing.

of Viviano Wine Importers
in -1949, died Dec. 13 at age
75.
Born in Windsor, Mrs.
Viviano lived 60 years in
Detroit. She was a member
of Temple Israel.
