proclaimed. Rabbi Shemtov led a Michigan delega-
tion to the affair, which also honored the educational
efforts and 75th birthday of the Lubavitcher Rebbe,

Scheduled Sunday

Chajes Concert, presented
by the Southfield Public Li-
brary, will take place 3 p.m.
Sunday at Southfield Lat-
hrup High School.

Chajes is artistic director.
The program will include
the Midwest debut of a
string quartet, Op. 34 by
Paul Walter Fuerst; a
sonatina for piano by Rafael
Kubelik; an aria from
Dvorak's oratorio, "The
Ghost's Bride"; and art
songs by Gottfried von
Einem.
Members of the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra under
the baton of Philip Green-
berg will perform Bloch's
Concerto Grosso for strings
and piano. Performing will
be Lawrence LaGore, music
director and pianist; sop-
ranos Roma Riddell and
Earnestine Nimmons;
mezzo soprano Rosemarie
Murch and pianist Neil
Stolberg.
Admission is free.
