merce, a past director of
the Watchmakers Guild of
Michigan (Metropolitan De-
troit), and a past president
of Harvard Row Merchants
Association.

President Sallie Morton of
the American Gem Society
said, "I want to con-
gratulate Ohrenstein on
achieving a level of skill
reached by only some 1,600
retail merchants in the
United States and Canada.
He has qualified as a regis-
tered jeweler through his
personal desire to increase
his knowledge of gemology,
and through the store's sub-
scribing to business prin-
ciples set down by the Fed-
eral Trade Commission,
Better Business Bureau and
the society's own code of
ethics."
