Rabbi Charles Siegel,
spritual leader of the Mo-
riah Synagogue of Haifa,
Israel, will be in ,Detroit
through Wednesday as a
participant in the Conserva-
tive rabbi-in-residence pro-
gram sponsored by Adat
Shalom Synagogue, Cong.
Beth Shalom, Cong. Bnai
Moshe and the Conservative
Rabbis of Metropolitan De-
troit, and nationally by the
American Zionist Feder-
ation and the United Syna-
gogue of America.
Rabbi Siegel lecutres in
the Haifa public school, to
civic organizations, on ki-
butzim, and on a regular
basis to the Institute for
Zionist Education. A native
of Burlington, Vt., Rabbi
Siegel was ordained at the
Jewish Theological Semi-
nary of America, and has
lived in Israel with his fam-
ily since 1968.
Rabbi Siegel will speak at
Shabat morning services 9
a.m. Saturday at Adat Sha-
lom Synagogue on "Prog-
ress and Prospects Con-
servative Judaism in
Israel."
Following services, he
will be the guest of the
men's club and sisterhood
who will host a Shabat
luncheon. There is no
charge, but reservations are
required by calling the
synagogue office, 851-5100.
Rabbi Siegel will speak at
a meeting jointly sponsored
by the men's club of Cong.
Beth Shalom and the culture
commission of Cong. Bnai
Moshe, 10:45 p.m. Sunday at
Beth Shalom. His topic will
be "The Present State of the
Conservative Movement in
Israel."
He will address a regional
meeting of the Michigan-
Ohio Region of the Rabbi-
nical Assembly of America
Tuesday. That evening, he
will participate in the clos-
ing session of the Inter-
congregational Adult Edu-
cation Institute of the
Conservative Rabbis of Met-
ropolitan Detroit.
He will meet with stu-
dents in the Adat Shalom-
United Hebrew School, the
Bnai Moshe-United Hebrew
School and Hillel Day
School.

JERUSALEM (JTA)—A
total of 180 trees in honor of
President Anwar Sadat
have been planted in the
Jewish National Fund's
Peace Forest outside Je-
rusalem.
The gesture was con-
ceived by Yekutiel Feder-
man, who is owner of the
Dan Hotels chain (among
which is the King David
Hotel where Sadat and his
entourage stayed). Feder-
man presented Sadat with
