Beth Yehudah and the Beth
Jacob School for Girls.
There is a pre-school pro-
gram, an afternoon school,
a summer day camp and
adult education classes con-
ducted by the Beth Yehudah
Schools. A college of rabbin-
ics and Judaica as well as a
seminary for girls also exist
under the schools' auspices.

nowsky, on Sunday evening..
Cantor Harold Orbach of
Temple Israel led the sing-
ing of the national anthems.
The concert program
included:
Bloch's Concerto Grosso No. 1
for String Orchestra with Piano
Obbligato; Raitzin as soloist in
DonizetIl's "Una furtiva lagr-
ima" (A single furtive tear)
from L'Elisir D'Ainore, Len-
sky's Aria from Eugene Onegin
by TschaikOwsky and Cdea's
"Lamento Frederico" from
L'Arlesiana; Ben Chaim's
Sweet Palmist of Israel
"David before Saul" (Largo),
Puccini's "E Incevan le stelle"
(And the stars shone brightly)
from Tosca, Raitzin as soloist

Highlight of the evening
was Raitzin's solo encore.
The audience was asked to
wait while the symphony
cleared the stage, and Rait-
zin returned with a pianist.
He sang "You shall not
know war anymore" (Al
Teda Milhama), put on a
yarmulka to sing from the
liturgy, and received a
standing ovation for his
Education Group

ident of the Zionist Organi-
zation of Detroit, and Dr.
Lester Zeff, chairman of the
concert, briefly explained
that the proceeds from the
concert support the infor-
mation and educational pro-
gthms of the Zionist Organi-
zation of America.
The printed program also
had a post card attached
urging President Carter to
implement the 1976 Demo-
cratic Party Platform
planks supporting Israel.
