THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS

Education must be at-
tuned to the needs not only
of the hour but of the fu-
ture. We betray the nation's
purpose if we hide from our
youth the great vision of
the Prophets. Our hearts
yearn for the historic mor-
row.

early life in Lebanon, Ms. Brancheau said that Israel was

the medical care her mother and other relatives still in

Veal is healthier than
beef. Because housewives
are looking for new ways to
prepare it, I've been asked
lately for new recipes using
veal. This is a favorite:

3 lbs. veal strips (from veal
breast)
2 medium zucchini
1 onion
. 1 medium eggplant
2 No. 303 cans stewe'
-
matoes
oregano to taste
garlic powder to taste
flour
oil
Cut zucchini and onion in
thin rounds. Peel and cube
eggplant. Coat veal and egg-
plant with flour. Brown veal
strips, eggplant, zucchini and
onion in oil in a large heavy
skillet. Add tomatoes, ore-
gano and garlic powder. Cook.
covered about 1 1/2 hours or un-
til veal is very tender.

Shavuot recalls the day
when all Israel was as one
heart in accepting the
Torah.
