Technion. Dinner for Establishment of Hebrew
Language Chair Is Headed by David Pollack
David Pollack, prominent
community leader, has
been named chairman - of
the annual dinner of the De-
troit Technion Society to be
held Oct. 10 at Cong.
Shaarey Zedek.
Louis Milgrom, president
of the Detroit Technion
Chapter. in his announce-
ment of Pollack's • appoint-
ment, said that advance res-
ervations indicated a re-
cord-setting interest in this
year's event.
Milgrom stated that plans
have been completed at the
Technion—the Israel In-
stitute of Technology in
Haifa. Israel, for the estab-
lishment of the Philip Slo-
movitz Professional Chair
for the Hebrew Language,
being set up in the name of
the honoree at the Oct. 10
Technion dinner. Slomovitz
also will be presented with
the coveted Albert Einstein
Award given annually to a
distinguished community

of the chairmanship for the
dinner, expressed con-
fidence that the community
will in renewed inter-
est n Technion while honor-
ing the selectee for the 1977
Albert Einstein AWard.
Pollack has a long record
of community leadership,
especially in behalf of Is-
rael Bonds and the United
Jewish Appeal. He retired
last year from the chair-
manship of the Detroit Is-
rael Bond Committee and
he has played important
roles in Allied Jewish Cam-
paigns and other causes.
Under his leadership record
achievements were record-
ed for the Israel Bond ef-
forts.
Pollack is a member of
the Bonds Prime Minister's
club. He is on the board of
directors of the Bank of the
Commonwealth. Mt. Car-
mel Hospital and the
Wayne State University
Fund. He also is a- member
of the national board of
