Samuel Weisman, Active
in Clothing Union 40 Years
Samuel Wolf Weisman, an
active leader in Detroit-
area clothing workers
unions, died Sept. 18 at age
77.
Born in Russia, Mr. Weis-
man lived 65 years in
Detroit. He had worked for
the Amalgamated Clothing
Workers of America for
more than 40 years, retiring
as business agent for Locals
33 and 229 about four years

ish community since 1916,
Mr. Weisman was a mem-
ber of the People's Relief
for Jewish War Sufferers,
the Educational Alliance,
United Landsmanshaften
and Pisgah Lodge of Bani
Brith. He resided at 15222
Northgate Blvd., Oak Park.
He is survived by his wife,
Lottie; a son. Gerald J.; a
daughter. Mrs. Alfred (Ber-
nice A.) Riskin; a brother,
Jack of Los Angeles, Calif.;
three sisters. Mrs. Jack
(Sarah) Bryman of Los
Angeles, Mrs. Louis
(Rebecca) Sarver and Mrs.
Jack (Edith) Taback, both
of Tamarac, Fla. ; and five
grandchildren.
Dr. H. Coffman
Dr. Henry Coffman, an
optometrist and founder of
the Coffman Pharmacal Co.
in Oak Park, died Sept. 14 at
age 60.
Dr. Coffman was a radio-
man third class in the U.S.
Navy and navigator in the
U.S. Army Air Force, from
which he received an air
medal with two bronze
battle stars.
He was a member of the
Detroit Projectionists Union
Local 199 and Cong. Bnai
Moshe. He resided at 24341
Jerome, Oak Park.
He is survived by his wife.

two daughters. Jane Mich-
elle and Miriam Beth; a
brother, David Kaufman;
and a sister. Belle
Kaufman.

Women's Auxiliary. She

Southfield.
She leaves three sisters,
