(Gerta ) Markow of Lincoln
Terrace Dr.. Oak Park,
were honored at a family
dinner at the Town and
Country. Club last month on
the occasion of their 60th
wedding anniversary.
In honor of the occasion,
a garden of trees was plan-
ted in Israel by their chil-
dren. Mr. and Mrs. Ben
(Etta) Paull and Mr. and
Mrs. Leon (Irene) Levine
of Atlanta. Ga.
A plaque in the couple's
honor was placed in the P in-
sker-Histradrut Clinic in
Herzliya, Israel. by their
grandchildren.
Markow is a past presi-
dent of the Pinsker Progres-
sive Aid Society and was a
chairman of the Israel
Emergency. Fund for many
years.
Mrs. Markow is an active
member of Pioneer Women

and a past president of the
Caroline Friendship Club.
The couple has been active
in communal and national
organizations.
The Markows were mar-
ried Aug. 12, 1917 in Detroit
where Mr. Markow owned
a sponge and chamois busi-
ness. He later' was em-
ployed at Women's Hospi-
tal, now Hutzel Hospital.
Book Sale to Run

The annual used book
sale of the Greater Detroit
Chapter, Brandeis Univer-
sity National Women's Com-
mittee, will continue
through Wednesday at its
new location, Tel-12 Mall in
Southfield.
The book sale will be
open during mall hours: 10
a.m.-9 p.m. daily and noon-
