Dr. Victor Herman and
his Russian-born daughters,
Svetlana and Janna, will be
welcomed to Michigan at a
Workmen's Circle reception
on Father's Day, 2 p.m. Sun-
day at the Labor Zionist In-
stitute.
Dr. Herman is the native
American who spent 45
years in the Soviet Union,
18 of those years in prisons,
labor camps and Siberian
exile. He and his daughters
reside in Oak Park. He is a
member of Workmen's
Circle Branch 227.
There will be a brief pro-
gram at 3 p.m. at which the
Herman family will be pre-
sented with the key to the
city by Major David Shep-
herd of Oak Park. An Oak
Park City Council proclama-
tion declartes June 19 Vic-
tor Herman Day.
Workmen's Circle mem-
bers and friends are in-
vited.
