sirloin. mushrooms, green
peppers and onions...with
cheese\ melted on both in-
sides (can have it with or
without cheese)...Shirley
asked us if we wanted the
works ($2.95) and brought
us a huge mouthful.
Next year will be the 25th
anniversary of Buddy's
Pizza...owned by Bob
Jacobs plus mom and dad,
Shirley and Bill
Jac_obs...It's a popular fam-
ily restaurant where the
square pizza was invented
24 years ago.

by a couple of nice, pleas-
ant young people, Kath-
erine and Ron Lee.
The decor is simple, with
decorations so far only on
the back wall...In the cen-
ter: however, hangs a hand-
some. hand-made huge fix-
ture that came from Tai-
wan after four months of
waiting...About those walls.
Katherine and Ron are not
like some other restauran-
teurs who put anything on
them whether it looks good
or 'not...They'd rather wait
until finding the right
things. which is the proper
way to do things...Working
to become an architect.
Ron designed the restau-
rant himself...and in good
taste.
Golden Wheel is a close,
family operation...in itself a
good quality because some-
one is always there who
cares...It is a -seven-day-a-
week operation... with Kath-
erine on days a-nd
night-s...and Ron at
nights...His dad. Leon Lee.
a known Chinese chef
around the northwest. is in
the kitchen...Kathdrine's sis-
ter Winnie, is a wait-
ress...and even her father.
Peter Tong. has a hand in
it.
HOWEVER JOHN Zelli-
nger does it. he's doing it
right - at Carl's Kansas City
Steak House on 14 Mile and
John R... Runs a good ship
and result is always wall-
to-wall people at the eat.
