Nails Defended
by Black, Jew

, OKLAHOMA CITY—Two
attorneys—one Black and
one Jewish—have agreed to
defend two self-professed
Nazis who were arrested in
Oklahoma City while pass-
ing out literature that said
"Jews and Blacks and
other mongrels vote as a
bloc."
"It makes no difference
to me what the pamphlet
said," said Theodore
Haynes, a member of the
American Civil Liberties
Union's legal panel. "To
me, the important thing is
that every individual has a
constitutional right to dis-
tribute information on the
public streets."
Haynes, a Black, and his
law partner, Ronnie R. Sing-
er, volunteered their
services in the case.
The deferidents, James
Whittom and Clifford Har-
rington, were arrested on
complaints of illegal distri-
bution of handbills in a pub-
lic place.

The name of Moshav
Alonei Abba, in western
lower Galilee, com-
memorates the Hagana
hero Abba Berdiczew who
died during World War II
after having been -para-
chuted into Slovakia.
