out... "Everything was
superb," says Al. "I had a
great piece of red snapper,
Mildred's white fish was ex-
cellent, the place is abso-
lutely beautiful and the
service wonderful."
CLUB 1001 NIGHTS is
open on W. McNichols, six
blocks west of
Southfield...Lebanese and
American food...Former
Angel's Hour Glass spot
will have its official grand
opening, May 1, 2 and
3...with floor show including
belly dancing and orches-
tras for show and dancing.
BIG SUNDAY for restau-
rateurs is May 8...Mother's
Day...No cooking or wash-
i n g dishes for
mother...Most places will
also have a children's menu
for that day...so they can
be with mom...and it won't
cost dad a bundle to have
the whole family together.
DETROIT PLAZA Hotel
in the Renaissance Center
may have a kosher kitch-
en...Kuno Fasel, food and
beverage head and catering
manager, is working on
it...Among those who have
big hopes for one is Kuno's
administrative secretary
from Johannesberg, South
Africa, Renee Stein...Has
nothing to do with Kashrut
or catering, but Renee is a
very rare individual...While
it rained buckets last week,
she very enthusiastically
reveled with "I love it! I
love it!"
"MR. NITE LIFE" of
yesteryears in Detroit,
Turk Prujanski, song
writer, emcee, show biz en-
trepreneur, promoter, etc.,
is here visiting fr6m Los An-
geles for a couple of weeks.
QUESTION... Why do
some restaurants serve
what they erroneously call
"cottage fries" which in
reality are re-fries and
hardened, like wooden nick-
els?
ANOTHER RESTAU-
RANT is being opened by
Chuck Muer...whose C.A.
Muer Corp. already oper-
ates 17 in Michigan, Ohio
and Colorado... This time
it's Pittsburgh, as he'll
spend about $2 million to re-
store the historic Grand
Concourse of the Terminal
Building at Station Square.
SCOTT'S KOR-
NER..."Since I am only 16-
years-old, the employees at
many places evidently don't
want my business. Like the
recent restaurant I was at
with my friends...When we
walked in, the hostess said,
`We don't want you here.
There's a dollar mininum.'
Because of her, the restau-
rant lost out on a nice size

"There's a way of saying
things that don't make
them seem offensive. Also,
waitresses and hostesses
should be taught to treat
everyone equally, regard-
less of age. If the restau-
rant doesn't want our busi-
ness, we will be more than
happy to accommodate
them by going elsewhere.
Funny thing about money.
It's the same color and has
the same value regardless
of who spends it."
