Saturday at Cong, Bnai
David. Frank Venice and
his orchestra will provide
music for dancing.
Refreshments will be
served. Admission is nomi-

Entree, Dessert for Passover

Pesah Pot Roast

2 tbsps. Planters Peanut
Oil
3 pounds lean boneless
beef chuck
6 small onions
4 carrots, cut into thirds
1 stalk celery, cut up
_1 bay leaf
1 1/2 tsps. salt
Generous dash pepper
1 cup apple juice
1 cup water
6 small potatoes, peeled
3 large sweet potatoes,
peeled and halved
Parsley
1 tbsp. potato starch

Heat Planters Peanut Oil
in Dutch oven over me-
dium heat. Add beef;
brown well on all sides.
Add onions, carrots, cele-
ry, bay leaf, salt, pepper,
apple juice and water.

Cover and place in 300 de-
gree oven for 1 hour. Re-
move from oven. Add po-
tatoes and sweet potatoes.
Cover and return to oven
for 1 hour, or until potatoes
are fork-tender. Slice meat
and arrange with vege-
tables on serving platter.

Garnish with parsley.
Thicken gravy with potato
starch. Pour some of gravy
over meat and vegetables
and serve remaining gravy
on the side. Makes 6
servings.

4 matzot
1 cup orange juice
1 /2 cup Planters Peanut Oil
3 eggs, separated
1 /4 tsp. ground cinnamon
3 cups chopped apple
1 /4 cup chopped Planters
Blanched Almonds
1 /4 cup dark seedless rai-
sins
2 tbsps. chopped candied
fruit peel
1/3 cup sugar
2 tbsps. Planters Peanut
Oil
1 tbsps. sugar
Dip matzot in orange
juice. (Do not soak.) Set
aside covered with a damp
cloth. Combine remaining
orange juice, 1/2 cup Plan-
ters Peanut Oil, egg yolks
and cinnamon. Mix thor-
oughly. Stir in apple, Plan-
ters Blanched Almonds,
raisins and fruit peel. Beat
egg whites until foamy.
Gradually add 1/3 cup sug-
ar, beating until mixture
holds soft peaks. Fold into
apple mixture.
Place 2 matzot in an oil-
ed 8-inch square baking
dish. Pour in apple mix-
ture. Top with remaining 2
matzot. Drizzle with 2 ta-
blespoons peanut oil.
Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon
sugar. Bake at 350 degrees
about 50 minutes, or until
apples are tender. Serve
warm in squares. Makes 9
