nationally known per-
sonalitieS in a lecture
series, it was announced
by George J. Rossman,
chairman.
The first lecturer will
be Rabbi Isaac L.
Hechtman, executive vice
president of the Jewish
Community Council of
Montreal, who will speak
on 8 p.m. Tuesday in the
synagogue. He will give
an inside report on Soviet
Jewry and show a film.
Rabbi
Theodore
Dr. Lawrence Berkove,
professor of American lit-
erature, University of
Michigan-Dearborn Cam-
pus, will appear 8 p.m.
March 22. His topic will be
"American Jewish Litera-
ture."
The public is invited at

Seminary to Honor Lehrman
Rabbi Moses Lehrman
of Cong. Bnai Moshe will
be awarded the Rabbi
Max Arzt Distinguidhed
Rabbinic Service Award
by the Jewish,Theological
Seminary of America in
Miami Beach Feb. 23.
Rabbi Lehrman has
served Bnai Moshe for 29
years and is currently on
a six-month sabbatical
leave from the congrega-
tion.
The award will be pre-
sented as part of the semi-
nary's 18th annual convo-
cation and dinner.
Rabbi
Lehrman's
award will be presented
at the convocation dinner
at the Diplomat Hotel in
Hollywood. The convoca-
tion will be held in the af-
ternoon at Temple

Shimon Peres: Israel Will
Not Annex the West Bank
JERUSALEM (ZINS)
— Defense Minister Shi-
mon Peres stated last
week that Israel has no
intention of annexing the
West Bank.
The question of the ter-
ritory, he said, remained
open for overall pe -ace
negotiations with Jordan.
Peres made the state-
ment following a meeting
in Jerusalem with the
former mayor of Hebron,

Terrorist Cells
TEL AVIV (JTA) — Is:

cracked 10 terrorist cells
in the Judaea and
Samaria .regions and ar-
rested 82 persons, it was
announced Sunday.
Large quantities of
hand grenades, arms and
explosives were seized.
Six of the cells were
linked to El Fatah and
one to Naif Hawatmeh's
Popular Democratic
Front for the Liberation
of .Palestine.
The other three were in
the early stages of or-
ganizing and had not yet
affiliated with any out-
side terrorist organiza-
tion, security sources
