Malcolm Toon, the U.S.
Ambassador to Israel
who was appointed Am-
bassador to the Soviet
Union, has left Israel for
Moscow. The envoy was
guest of honor at several
receptions before depart-
ing.
In a chat with Premier
Yitzhak Rabin, Toon was
overheard saying: "I ex-
pect work in Moscow will
be less intensive for me
than it was here."

Pauline Fire, 88
Pauline Fire, a former
Flint resident, died Dec.
22 at age 88.
Born in Russia, Mrs.
Fire lived the last 10
years in Florida. She re-
sided at G-3100 Miller Rd.
She is survived by three
daughters, Mrs. Jack
(Rose) Krause and Mrs.
Sam (Mary) Stolorow,
both of Miami Beach,
Fla., and Mrs. Martin
(Blanche). Gordon; eight
grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
Abe Mono, 77
Abe Mono, a scrap
metal dealer for 20 years
and owner and operator
of the Bay City Scrap
Metal Co., died Dec. 17 at
age 77.
Born in Sosnowitz, Po-
land, Mr. Mono lived in
Bay City prior to moving
to Flint this year. He was
a member of Temple IS-
rael in Bay City and Bnai
Brith. He resided at 3116
Hawthorne.
Mr. Mono is survived by
his wife, Ann; a son, Karl
of Bay City; a daughter,
Mrs. Carl (Margot)
Myers; a brother, Fred
Mendelsohn of Van Nuys,
Calif.; two sisters, Ruth of
New York and Manaya in
Israel; and four grand-
children.
All Offices will be Closed at 3 P.M.

Jewish Librarians
Caucus, an organization
dedicated to identifying
and acting on issues af-
fecting Jews, is seeking
new members.
Founded in 1975, the
caucus is involved in lob
bying for reform of what
it calls discriminatory
treatment of Jews and
Judaism in subject head-
ing lists and library
classification schemes,
urging Soviet officials to
allow Jewish librarians to
emigrate, monitoring of
anti-Semitic materials in
all media and more.
The caucus also pub-
lishes a quarterly news-

Ann Eiseman
Ann Eiseman, a foun-
der of Flint's Temple
Beth El, died Dec. 20.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pa.,
Mrs. Eiseman resided in
Flint since 1920. She pre-
viously lived in Cincin-
nati, Ohio. She was a
founder, with her late
husband, Abraham, of
the Flint temple. She was
a member of the
McDowell Club, a volun-
teer for the Hurley Hospi-
tal Auxiliary, a member
of the Temple Beth El
Sisterhood and the Flint
Institute of Arts. She re-
sided at 915 E. Court St.
She is survived by a
daughter, Mrs. Phyllis
Orde of New York City.
