When asked why she
chose such a hard job, she
said, "I had never done
real physical labor before
and decided to give it a
try."
For Miss Simons,
broadening herself in-
cludes much reading, a
recorder workshop,
where she plays classical
and Baroque music, and
singing in the choir com-
posed of members of a
number of kibutz settle-
ments. She also teaches
music to disadvantaged
children on other settle-
ments in the area.

LONDON — Two mem-
bers of the board of the
Union of Jewish Religious
Communities in Slovakia
have been forced to re-
sign, according to the In-
ternational Coun-cil of
Jews from Czechos-
lovakia, thus tightening
the government's control
of the organization.
The jCJC said that re-
ports from the organiza-
tion, based in Bratislava,
are slow to be published
in a Jewish monthly in
Prague, and that com-
munal elections in ac-
cordance with the con-
stitution of the Union
have not been held in
some time.
TEL AVIV (ZINS) — A
poll of the PERI Institute
says that if the elections
for the Knesset would
take place now, the Labor
Party would get only
23.6% of the votes, com-
pared to Likud's 21.1%.
