Project JOIN Seeks Summer Applicants

Jewish
Vocational
Service and Community
Workshop (JVS-CW)
announce applications
are now being takeri for
Project JOIN (Jewish Oc-
cupational Interns).
Project JOIN is a summer
program that combines

professional experience
with an opportunity to
sample a career.
University students
selected for Project JOIN
will be placed as summer
interns in several Jewish
communal agencies
throughout the met-
ropolitan Detroit area.
The 10-week internships
are in the areas of social
work, teaching, health
professions, prograrii de-
velop,ment, social plan-
ning and community re-
lations. Interns also par-
ticipate in a weekly edu-
cational program concen-
trating on the structure
of the Jewish community.
Interns will be paid a tax
free stipend.
This is the fourth year
of operation for this spe-
cial summer program,

— The first Latin Ameri-
can Colloquium on Cul-
tural Pluralism held this
week was organized by
the Latin American
Jewish Congress and
coordinated by the wri-
ter Dr. Marcos Aguinas.
Participants included
anthropologists, philos-
ophers, historians and
sociologists from Argen-
tina, Bolivia, Brazil,
Chile, Paraguay, Peru
and Uruguay.
