circumstances, an investiga-
tion was promised to the
family of 16-year-old Lena
Nabulsi, member of a fami-
ly of considerable influence
in Nablus.
The gunshot death of the
girl was given widespread
publicity outside Israel and
caused an uproar in Israel.
The girl was hit by a bullet
only two weeks after she
returned from eye surgery
in London.
According to one
eyewitness account of the
incident the girl happened
to be a member of a group
of Nablus youngsters who
staged a
riotous
demonstration in Nablus.
Israeli soldiers called on
the youngsters to desist
and the girl panicked and
ran up the stairs of a near-
by house. According to
that account she was hit
accidentally by the soldier
chasing her.

New Moshav Built
on Mount Gilboa

JERUSALEM (JTA) — A
new moshav is being built
on the slopes of Mount
Gilboa, west of Jenin.
Intended for some 100
families from the area, the
settlement is called "Magen
Sha'ul," after King Saul
who died at the site while
battling the Philistines.
Seventeen families are
already residing there and
homes have been completed
for an additional 13 families
due to arrive shortly. All the
construction work is being
done by the future settlers.
The Housing Ministry has
allocated IL 2 million for the
construction of temporary
housing until permanent
homes for all the families
can be built. According to
the plan for the moshav,
each housing unit will have
an eight-dunam plot at-
tached.
The moshav center will
comprise a shop, clinic and
synagogue. The settlement
will be officially opened in
two months.

count was that the girl was
standing on a roof looking
on as soldiers chased a
group of demonstrating
Arab youngsters and was
hit by a bullet fired by a
soldier who was chasing
demonstrators into the
building where the girl was

standing.
The army said an in-
vestigating committee had
found there was reason for a
court martial on negligence
charges. Officials said there
was no suspicion that the
soldier deliberately fired at
the victim.

Authorities also disclosed
that an Israeli army officer
is facing trial in connection
with the death of an Arab
Communist leader from a
village near Nablus. He was
reportedly hit during
similar demonstrations last
May in that village. He had
been detained during the
demonstrations and was
reported dead on arrival at a
police station.

Warner Brothers to Produce
Official Entebbe Rescue Film

JERUSALEM (JTA) —
Warner Brothers will
produce the official version
of the Entebbe story, the
Ministry of Commerce and
Industry announced. An
agreement to that effect
was signed between
Commerce and Industry
Minister Haim Barley and
Ted Ashley, chairman of the
film company's board of
directors.
The government will
assist the producers with
official information on the
operation, and will provide
them with army units and
rent military aircraft and
vehicles. In return, Warner
Brothers promised to use
local production services as
much as possible.
The director will be
Franklin Sheffner and the
script writer is .Kenn Ross.
The two chief photog-
raphers are already in
Israel. More than 12 film
companies competed for
government assistance in
the production of a film on
Entebbe.
Warner Brothers will also
donate part of the revenues

of the film to an Israeli
soldiers benevolent fund.
Meanwhile, a film
production company has
offered an Israeli Reserves
general $200,000 for
professional counseling in
the production of a motion
picture on the Entebbe
operation, Premier
Yitzhak Rabin revealed in
the weekly Cabinet ses-
sion. Rabin did not specify
whether the general
accepted the offer.
Barley told the Cabinet
the ministry received 12
applications for government
aid in the production of an
Entebbe motion picture.
While the government will
condition any aid upon ap-
proval of the script, the
producers say they will
accept such conditions only
if they are given exclusive
rights to the film. He said
"Exodus" was a good movie
for Israel despite its short-
comings.

Syrian Charges
Denied by Israel

UNITED NATIONS
(JTA) —"There is not a
word of truth" in charges
made by Syria to Secretary
General Kurt Waldheim
that Israeli soldiers fired at
Syrian civil police in the
area of separation on the
Golan Heights, Israel told
Waldheim.
In a letter to Waldheim,
Pinhas Eliav, Acting Per-
manent Representative of
Israel to the UN said that
the Syrian allegation, con-
tained in a letter last week,
is also refuted by the in-
vestigation carried out by
UNDOF.
Syria, in its letter to
Waldheim, said that as a
result of the "Israeli
aggression" — which oc-
curred, according to the
Syrians, July 2 — "one
Syrian policeman was in-
jured."
Israeli diplomats here
pointed out that the Syrians
are trying to divert atten-
tion from their involvement
in Lebanon by inflating or
fabricating incidents
between Israeli and Syrian
forces. This is the second
time in recent weeks that
Syria complained to
Waldheim about "Israeli
aggression."
