than 140 teenagers from
throughout the United
States and Canada are fin-
ishing their third week in Is-
rael as participants in the
annual NCSY Israel Sum-
mer Seminar.
NCSY, the National Con-
ference of Synagogue
Youth, is a youth movement
of the Union of Orthodox
Jewish Congregations of
America. The NCSY Israel
Summer Seminar utilizes
NCSY leaders from
throughout the United
States and Israel and pre-
sents an extensive six week
program of learning, tour-
ing and experiencing Jewish
life in Israel.

hav United Synagogue
Youth group will host 46
teenagers from Lomas,
Mexico, Sunday through
Wednesday.
Sponsored by the Beth
Israel Community Center
there, the youth will visit
the General Motors Techni-
cal Center, Cranbrook Insti-
tutions, Greenfield Village
and the Henry Ford Mu-
seum.

goff, adviser for the syn-
agogue's pre-teen group will
retain that post.

JERUSALEM (JTA) —
About 100,000 immigrants
and army veterans partici-
pated in activities related to
Absorption Month in June,
according to a report by the
Ministry of Absorption
which sponsored the event.
About 5,500 immigrants
did volunteer work for the
army, visited Nahal (para-
military) settlements and
played host to soldiers in
their homes, the ministry
said.
Another 3,500 immigrants
visited kibutzim throughout
the country while others
attended seminars and re-
lated activities aimed at a
better understanding of ab-
sorption, problems.

vice presidents; Yvonne Do-

New Settlements

JERUSALEM (JTA) —
Some 15,000 youths at-
tended the fifth annual
Shomria jamboree of the
Hashomer Hatzair youth
movement which ended July
17 with the announcement
that eight new Hashomer
Hatzair settlements would
be established in various
parts of the country. The
four-day gathering of the
Mapam-affiliated move-
ment was held in the Ju-
daean hills.
