Mrs. Hauser explained
why the Arab oil embargo
in 1973 was not a success by
indicating that the oil ship-
ments were already on the
way to this country. She
warned that vast acquisi-
tions of tankers by the Ar-
abs threaten drastically to
change the situation and to
create devastating dangers.
She emphasized the menace
of growing U. S. accommo-
dations with the Arabs and
urged a demand on the next
administration "to develop a
concert with Israel."
Mrs. Kathleen Straus was
re-elected president of the

Russia as infiltrating the
Middle East in a "tug of war
with the United States for
domination of the area" and
she declared that if it were
not for Israel's presence the
USSR domination would
have been realized.
Nevertheless, discussing
the new policy of even-hand-
edness, Mrs. Hauser quoted
Gen. George Brown, who in
a statement at the Pentagon
asserted that Israel's role in
the Middle East was of no
consequence.
The tragic 1973 war was
described by Mrs. Hauser as
"the war of frustration."

against the combined
enemy forces but was
turned into a diplomatically
